Head of Transportation and Forwarder

This role is responsible for directing sales efforts to expand our client's customer base. This role will be responsible for generating new business and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded across all lines of business. This individual should be a motivated customer sales representative with experience and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and achieve revenue targerts

• Identify market trends, emerging opportunities, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision-making

• Set long-term objectives and goals for the freight forwarding business and establish strategies to achieve them

• Lead business development efforts to acquire new clients, expand market share, and grow revenue streams

• Cultivate relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to enhance business opportunities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and growth markets

• Negotiate contracts and rate agreements

• Support carrier reps with the coordination of transportation freight in a cost-effective manner

• Document issues with orders thoroughly

• Track/trace shipments when requested.

Experience :

• 3-6 years of LTL/ TL experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Superior phone etiquette

• Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word)

• Excellent interpersonal skills
